As autumn approaches, the leaves of the dogwood assume gorgeous tints of crimson and yellow, and its clusters of brilliant red berries reach their maturity. In late autumn, the seeds can be so abundant that they give a red color to the woods.
The image and text for this earring was inspired by the Mary Vaux Walcott’s North American Wild Flowers, published by The Smithsonian Institution in 1925.
