In the fall, the wild apple or Crab apple sets its fruit. It will be a meal for robins, cardinals, woodpeckers, bluebirds, cedar waxwings, towhees, mockingbirds, tufted titmice, blackbirds, thrushes, and crows. Mammals, such as mice, voles, foxes, and badgers, also eat it. Generally, it is considered too tart for humans.
