The Bauhaus was a revolutionary school of art, architecture, and design founded in 1919 by the architect Walter Gropius. It evolved a new language of art and craftsmanship that was both abstract and dynamic. Operating from 1919 to 1933 the Bauhaus style became one of the most influential currents in modern design, architecture, and art.
