Phoenix Metal Bookmark

Both Asian and Western myths have phoenixes. The Western phoenix's primary association is with death and fiery rebirth (a concept introduced to the Chinese version much later through cultural exchange); the  Chinese phoenix's appearance heralded peace and prosperity. It is described as a blend of various birds - the tail feathers of a peacock, the body of a duck, the legs of a crane, the wings of a swallow, and the beak of a parrot.
