Green Earth Earring

Green earth (terre verte) was first used in Roman-Egyptian painting. When synthetic colors became available in the 19th century, some artists, like Van Gogh, Klee, and Kandinsky, continued to use natural pigments like Green Earth .  The shape of these earrings is entirely postmodern and inspired by an Elsworth Kelly painting.
