Ocean Life Matisse Earrings

Matisse traveled and then used those memories to create forms that distilled the essence of what he had seen. This technique is the foundation of his paper cut-out shapes, which are the basis of the tapestry “The Fish of the Sea.” It was donated to the Kennedy Center and the inspiration for these earrings.
