Tiffany Stylized Iris Favrile Vase Metal Bookmark A visit to a London Museum in 1865 and its iridescent ancient Roman and Syrian glass collection inspired L.C. Tiffany to create a contemporary equivalent, "favrile glass." He received a patent, won a gold medal at the 1900 Paris Exposition, and changed decorative glass forever.
