The inspiration for this bookmark is the Japanese hairstyle worn by a Maiko during the ceremony called Erikae, which marks their graduation from Maiko to Geiko. She will design the look of her elaborate hairstyle herself, and she will add crane and tortoiseshell ornaments. The whole style is quite striking and extravagant.
