The Babson house in suburban Illinois was designed by Louis H. Sullivan 1907. Though it is no longer standing, the servants’ quarters, stables and a greenhouse survive. Designed in 1915 by Purcell & Elmslie, the buildings’ decorative detail is the inspiration for these earrings.
