Gateway Arch Steel Earrings

The Gateway Arch is a unique structure made up of a series of welded triangular sections, each of which gets gradually smaller and tilts inward as they soar skyward. Each section was a sandwich, the outer layer being 1/4 inch stainless steel, the inner layer being ¾ inch carbon steel. Between the layers is a fill of concrete, up to the 300 foot mark, above which steel stiffeners keep the sides rigid.
