Hokusai Bird and Flower Metal Bookmark

$15.00

Bird-and-flower prints (kacho-e) have a long tradition in Japanese art. The artist Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849) was a master of this form, as can be seen in Grosbeak and Mirabilis Jalaba. Though the style is Japanese, the flower Mirabilis jalaba is native to Peru where it was cultivated by the Aztecs for medicinal and ornamental purposes.
