Life Bosch Bookmark

The wonder of Hieronymus Bosch’s imagination is apparent in this creature from his painting of the Temptation of St Anthony. The whirligig on its adult head denotes foolishness, the primitive walker its lack of balance, and the vessel of water with no arms to lift it a sense of helplessness. It is a dark view of humanity leavened by humor.
